Gordon & MacPhail – Curated Whisky Tastings

The Tasting Room at Gordon & MacPhail. Credit: Gordon and MacPhail

I am delighted to be working with Gordon & MacPhail, one of Scotland’s most respected whisky houses, to offer thoughtfully curated whisky tastings as part of selected Attaché Tours journeys.
Founded in Elgin in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail bring generations of knowledge, discernment, and quiet authority to the world of Scotch whisky. Family-owned and guided by a long-term view, their reputation rests on an unwavering commitment to quality, deep respect for relationships, and careful stewardship of rare and exceptional single malts. Within Attaché Tours, their whiskies are never treated as an add-on, but as an integral part of a wider cultural narrative — rooted in place, people, time, and craft.
Each tasting is carefully shaped around the interests and experience of the guest, from an elegant introduction to Speyside character through to a more considered exploration of mature expressions and rare bottlings. Where appropriate, tastings are framed by context: the Moray landscape that produces the barley, the warehouses that quietly shape the spirit, and the patient guardianship that defines Gordon & MacPhail’s standing in the whisky world.
While Gordon & MacPhail’s historic South Street premises in Elgin undergoes an exciting transformation, private tastings are hosted at The Courtyard, set within the Johnstons of Elgin site. Arranged through Attaché Tours, these experiences are bespoke, unhurried, and informed — designed to deepen understanding as much as enjoyment, and to leave guests with a lasting sense of connection to Moray, Speyside, and one of Scotland’s great whisky families.

Johnstons of Elgin – Curated Craft & Heritage Journeys

Attaché Tours offers carefully curated craft and heritage journeys in partnership with Johnstons of Elgin, exploring how place, skill, and long-term stewardship have shaped one of Scotland’s most respected textile houses.

Founded in Elgin in 1797, Johnstons of Elgin brings more than two centuries of discernment and quiet authority to fine textile production. Family-owned and guided by a long-term view, the company is defined by its commitment to natural materials, skilled craftsmanship, and thoughtful stewardship. Within Attaché Tours, Johnstons’ mill experiences are not treated as isolated visits, but as part of a wider cultural story — rooted in place, labour, and continuity.
Each journey is shaped around the interests and pace of the guest. Experiences may begin within the working mill or archive, before extending into the wider landscapes of Moray and Speyside — to places such as Knockando Woolmill, the River Spey, or Moray’s historic coast — where the relationships between environment, craft, and industry become clearer.
Arranged privately through Attaché Tours, these experiences are unhurried, informed, and personal. Small group sizes allow space for conversation and reflection, offering guests a deeper understanding not only of exceptional textiles, but of the landscapes and communities that sustain them.
